The Elkhorn Animal Hospital professional staff consists of five veterinarians. Our front office staff, which includes three full time client care specialists, ensures that your call is answered in a timely manner and that you are always greeted with a welcoming smile.
Additionally, our staff includes an office manager, six veterinary technicians, five veterinary assistants, and an animal caretaker.
Dr. Emily Koppold - Practice Owner
An Omaha native, Dr. Emily Koppold graduated from Northwest High School. She attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha during her undergraduate school career. Her love of the veterinary profession was solidified while working as a veterinary assistant at a local veterinary clinic.
Dr. Koppold graduated from Kansas State University in 2008 and began working at the Elkhorn Animal Hospital in May of that same year. Since graduation, Dr. Koppold has developed a special interest in soft tissue surgery and cardiology. Dr. Koppold is a member of the AVMA. She enjoys the companionship of her dog Jade and cat Homework.
Dr. Danielle Weidauer
Dr. Danielle Weidauer grew up in Norcatur, a small town in northwest Kansas. She attended Kansas State University and graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in May 2007. Dr. Danielle’s first year and half of practice were spent in the St. Louis metro area. Dr. Danielle joined the Elkhorn Animal Hospital staff in January 2009. She is a member of the AVMA and has served on the Nebraska Academy of Veterinary Medicine Board of Directors.
Dr. Danielle and her husband, Kurt, have a son, Will, and are expecting another child in April. The family is blessed with a fun-loving Boston Terrier, Oscar. They enjoy running, biking, Kansas State sports and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Stephanie Jones
Dr. Stephanie Jones, a Nebraska native, completed her undergraduate degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2002. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry and then went on to attend Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2006. After practicing small animal medicine for 8 years, Dr. Jones pursued over 100 hours of continuing education and received her certification in veterinary medical acupuncture from Colorado State University where she earned her cVMA in 2013. She has thoroughly enjoyed integrating this complementary medicine as well as her experience in cold laser therapy into the care of her patients. Dr. Jones has a passion for helping improve pets’ quality of life using these modalities for a wide variety of conditions.
Dr. Jones is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association and a former member of the Nebraska Academy of Veterinary Medicine where she served as a board member including past president. Yoga, working out, and Nebraska football are some activities she enjoys along with spending time with her family and friends. Dr. Jones and her husband, Michael, will be welcoming their first child in March of 2016. They have two cats named Kirbee and Cole.
Dr. Eliza Smith
Dr. Jordan Nickerson
Dr. Jordan C. Nickerson was born and raised in Omaha, was a 2003 graduate of Burke High School, and he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Veterinary Science from University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) in 2007. He subsequently graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. He was a member of the inaugural class of the Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine between UNL and Iowa State. He enjoyed helping define Nebraska’s involvement in veterinary education.
While in school Dr. Nickerson met his wife, whom is also a veterinarian and shares his love for small animals.
Dr. Nickerson and his wife enjoy spending any free time they have with their daughter Madeleine and son Jeffrey!
